GE Logiq9 intermittant problem

Good Afternoon,
When the tech changes the depth while scanning an abdomen, the control only lets him change it one unit. If he tries to do more, the depth pops back to the near field. When he reboots, it functions fine.
Any thoughts?

So I think it can be a few things.

1. Bad Probe- Have you tried other transducers
2. Preset corrupted- Have you tried other presets
3. Software or hard drive
4. Frontend Power supply or EBM- Have you tried to run diag. and test the voltages
5. Bad BEP

Thanks for the input, Jed. All the diags ran okay, reloaded software, still problem on different xducers. At this point I suspect BEP, as the system also froze on me.
